My understanding was that Mossberg doesn't like selling the 14" barrel to the Civillian market; they prefer to keep that to the MIL/LE guys. Again, this is just what I've heard.

I had 2 of them back in the day, since sold, and honestly, I don't see what the big deal is. I find the Remington 14" Police Magnum to be a much better shotgun, imho, ymmv.

From what I know, Benelli 14" come right from Italy, same as Fabarm, thus bypassing the US ITAR nonsense.
