Just wondering, is anyone else using 140 grain Nosler Partitions and H4350 in a 7x57 Husqvarna rifle?

I use 48.5 grains of H4350 behind 139 grain Hornady Interlock bullets now but have some NPs I want to try in my Husqvarna 4100.

I'm wondering if I should try the same powder weight with the NP bullets?

Firstly, and you know this....search around and find some load info for that projectile. Either one of the many paper sources or perhaps Reloaders nest. Start a little light and work up. Simple elementary reloading step.

Personally i use the 160 Amax. Partitions are a slam dunk awesome bullet in everything....good combination of ease in work up and knock down terminal performance. For me with the 7x57 if i dont try to load it to 7 mag levels my results have been good. Using a premium projectile is a better way to increase performance than stuffing a case to compressed. Since speed is much lower than the magnums, a lot of the old inexpensive "Chevrolet" projectiles work just fine like your Interlocks.

The 4100 is a great action, so you should have no problem with stout loads for your 7x57.

I have shot 52 grains of IMR 4350 behind the 140 Partition in my 700 Classic in 7x57, and still no pressure issues.

I have since settled on the same charge of RL 17, for a bit more velocity than IMR 4350 and tighter groups as well. :)

Start 4 grains below and work up carefully.

Regards, Dave.

I would be comfortable in using your data from the Hornady 139 gr with the 140 gr Nosler partition. In my experience the partition likes to be driven fast .
