One of the main reason I went with M-Lok is that I want to use the QD rail section from Kinetic Development Group. So now I can use or buy regular accessories, take them on and off with the QD rail.

So you bought a handguard that does not have picatinny rails to reduce weight, then go buy QD rail sections to put the weight back onto the handguard. What are you trying to accomplish here?

I saw a rail that had picatitinny on the front and the rear only … who mounts something in the middle of their top rail?.. that makes sees to me.

KDG make a small QD rail with a sling stud so I can mount a bipod directly without having to buy another mount to add more weight. They also make 3, 5, rail slots so you can mount non-MLOK accessories where you only need it.
