Tried out some new loads yesterday with the cheap little 150 gr FMJ. I bought a whole bunch of them cheap and I want to see what they will do before I mess around with 165/168 etc.
I made up 9 loads from 40gr thru to 44 gr in .5 increments. Im not too worried about where the shots landed cos it was so friggin cold -20/-25 windchill, with the wind coming straight up the range at about 20-25 km, I was shakin like a joggers tits, and #### loss was a distinct possibility
That being said the wind was constant so the variation in the groups is at least 90% due to the loads and not the wind.
The lighter loads seem to be worth working on, the 40.0 and the 42.0 especially
All cases were 5x fired in my gun, full length sized, case length 2.010,COAL 2.800,CCI 200 and a mix of Remington and Federal brass.
Just me havin fun,not claiming anything at all except that handloading is freakin awesome and cheap if you buy big.
The guns just an old Norc Longy in an Archangel stock .Just tightened up and loctited, no "ping", and a good scope.
Keep it cheap..its more fun
