Tried out some new loads yesterday with the cheap little 150 gr FMJ. I bought a whole bunch of them cheap and I want to see what they will do before I mess around with 165/168 etc.
I made up 9 loads from 40gr thru to 44 gr in .5 increments. Im not too worried about where the shots landed cos it was so friggin cold -20/-25 windchill, with the wind coming straight up the range at about 20-25 km, I was shakin like a joggers tits, and #### loss was a distinct possibility :)
That being said the wind was constant so the variation in the groups is at least 90% due to the loads and not the wind.

The lighter loads seem to be worth working on, the 40.0 and the 42.0 especially
All cases were 5x fired in my gun, full length sized,case length 2.010,COAL 2.800,CCI 200 and a mix of Remington and Federal brass.
Just me havin fun,not claiming anything at all except that handloading is freakin awesome and cheap if you buy big.
The guns just an old Norc Longy in an Archangel stock .Just tightened up and loctited, no "ping", and a good scope.

Keep it cheap..its more fun :)

Ooops H4895 :)

Hodgdon 4895 or IMR 4895?

Looks like you meant Hodgdon H4895, just checking, also;

putting it out there for anyone who knows; H4895 & IMR4895; similar enough to consider the same regards powder weights?

Damn, as for me I'm doing similar load testing, and am thinking about either buying or borrowing a chronograph as I'm not certain I'm getting the bullets past 26-2700 FPS.

I have a load I like myself (42.5 IMR4895 w 150gr, 41.5 w/168), but if it just strolling out of the barrel I'd bump up the powder charge, bla bla bla
