$1500 for a SKS, what...the recession over ?

Huh? Please explain how you can snipe on Gunbroker?

what does sniping means to you ? to me a sniper not showing his interest before hand , letting others to believe their bids are good so they would not to come back before closing and then a sniper simply placing a bid before closing , triggers a 15 min extension and if there are other snipers then it keeps going till someone gives up.

To snipe as in online auction bidding is,putting in a bid at the last seconds before the auction closes. With eBay you can snipe, due to the fact the auction has a set closing time. On Gunbroker there is no set closing time if someone bids in the last 15 minutes,it lenghtens the closing another 15 minutes. Hence eliminating the snipers advantage of bidding at such a time to not allow another bidder to beat him.
