$1500 tax return money... wife doesn't know about... buy what?

Sorry but if that is the respect between you two, call a lawyer. Are you mortgage free? Have an emergency fund, or car replacement fund? Not anywhere near as much fun, but worth it in long run. If you have no bills, money in the bank, and are prepared for the future, tell your wife you are taking the return to the gun shop and fill your hands. Again JMHO & YMMV

Can't decide what to get? Wait until you see something that says you that you must have it. Might be a better option than asking strangers to make suggestions on how to spend your money.

If you feel you have to sneak around to spend money so your wife won't find out then maybe invest your money in a set of balls . If that is not an option then I suggest a good divorce lawyer.

Bought the rifle, the wifey knows, all is well. Guys, this thread was meant more in jest. Things are fine on the home front. Some of you guys need to get a life. :)

I think exactly like you do,too many know it Allz on here can't take a bit of joking around and fun,it's all good I do the same thing we don't have any money problems because we both know how to manage our money and can buy what we want without the other freaking out ,some people will never get it lol.

"Ya don't tell *wife*!" Lol I'm kidding and fully agree with you.

Great. And we all know that "I was just joking around" is never used to disguise abuse or bullying. But I'm convinced it's all fine.

The attitudes "joked" about in this thread do not help to convince the antis that gun advocates are trustworthy people.

My wife long ago realized any extra money i get im buying guns or ammo. At least i have something to show for it. Well maybe not the ammo so much but what ive stocked up on i consider an investment
Congrats on the gun. I have a sneaky suspicion ima get screwed this tax year

My wife read this thread and had a good laugh. She particularly appreciated the advice for me to grow a pair. She's spending her tax return on "more useful" items.

On the question of sharing in the shooting sports, she occasionally joins me at the club for some rimfire target shooting and is actually a pretty good shot. She also likes her time, and when I'm out in the field or range, she does other things. We are quite different, but things seem pretty balanced.

Are you nutz? You showed your wife how to peruse CGN... you don't need to grow balls....you are already sporting a massive pair.

If anyone ever asks, and it's pretty rare nowadays, I compare money spent on guns to spending it at the bar, casino or weed store.

If things get tight I can start selling gear and guns but the return on second hand beer is absolutely zilch.

I compare my spending money on guns to people spending money to go on trips. The big difference is when the trip is over with the exception of a few photos and souvenirs they have nothing to show for their money except memories but I on the other hand have my gun and if I decide to get rid of it can get some of my money back.So I figure I get the better deal on money spent
