154 Scenars?

Hey Guys:

A few questions for the pros!!!

Are the 154 Lapua Scenars "legal" for F-Class shoots??? Or do I need to shoot the 155 Palma Match bullet to qualify in this class?

Where in Western Canada do I find these bullets so I can give them a try??

I have used the 154gr for a few years now in f class and have had great results.At my range in MB I have shot them out to 1400yds with an 80% hit average on a 15 inch diameter steel plate.
If your shooting .308 use the 154gr.
 
For F(F) any bullet under 156 gr is legal. At one time Sierra was the only maker with the 155 Palma bullet. Now Hornady, Nosler, Burger and Lapua make 155's. Lapua's work great and use about 2 MOA less elevation at long range.
 
We have them (plus much more selction ) here in Alberta as well. Excellent inventory.

GB491 154gr. Scenars are not the ballistic equal of 6.5 bullets shot out of 6.5X47 Lapua, .260 Rem or any other cartridge with equal or more powder capacity.
The first 3 finishers at the Canadian TR championship at Connaught in 2006 used GB491 Scenars. 1st place used a 1-12" twist barrel, althoug many top shooters use 1-13. Usually load about .8gr. less powder than Sierra 155MK, as the higher bearing area creates more pressure. Best OAL varies from .008" off the lands to .015" into the lands. Load development, as with all bullets, is required. A proven reamer is the M852, as are the reamers used for Bisley. Barrel length, 26-30".

10.0 grams doesnt convert exactly to 154 grain. Now its almost 9am on a sunday and somehow I woke up on my lonesome but if my memory serves me correct its 154.6gr. I have been shooting amax's and bought a few box's of 10gram scenars for my 308 a few weeks back and have yet to load them. Out of curiousity I weighed them and found a variation of .8 to almost 1 grain. I dont know if thats major but the amax's I loaded were way more consistance in their weight.... However Scenars are the stuff and their bc is high. So I will ignore it? or sort by .3 grain???
 
Nah...just weigh your primers and use the heavy primers with the heavy bullets.

I'm kidding. I've watched my buddy load a grand total of 18 rifle bullets so far and I'm still amazed at how anal the process is compared to my 20K rnds/yr pistol habit.
