Hello, I am currently developing a load for my 24" 10TR with 155 Scenars and 8208XBR powder. From my initial testing I'm getting accurate loads that are traveling ~2975-3000 fps. I am wondering if this is a little fast for barrel longevity. I'm thinking about finding another accurate load at a little slower speed. Any thoughts?

Shot with a fellow from England at the World F Class Championships in Aug this year. he was shooting 155.5 gr Bergers at 3150 fps 30" barrel his come up from 100 zero to 900 m was just under 24 moa He shot very well. I know the load he was using but won't mention it was vey warm.
His good friend came second place in 2013 loosing bye one point using same load

I'm using 44.6 and 44.9 grains. The book max from the IMR website is 45.3. There is primer flattening using CCI BR2 primers. With the 10TR throats being very short, I am loaded to 2.061" base to ogive which is 0.020" off of the lands.

Barrels and brass are consumables. Your load is hot. If it extracts without any sign of a stiff bolt lift, I would say it is ok. But brass won't last as long and barrel life is shorter. Your call.

I load a 30" to 3000 fps. That would be around 2850 to 2900 in a 24".
