I was going through my reloading supplies and found a couple of these boxes.

What do you think of this bullet?

When i first got them it seemed that everyone was a raving about them. Then it kind of went quiet. Did they fall out of favour?

The 155 grain weight hits the limit for DCRA shooting. Supposedly this one stays better at the longest ranges than the 147gr service FMJ. It was the first as I recall. Over time technical improvements have appeared. Do I know if these are better? No, but I sense the differences will be almost invisible to 95% of shooters just trying to hold the black at 1000yds.

I shoot them. The 2156 was supposed to improve the coefficients over the 2155. They are for TR shooting mainly but FTR was making noise about limiting to 155 grains. They blow a lot more than heavier for caliber stuff. Better sell them to me for $1 a box.

Sierra make 2 types. The first one was the 2155 SMK Palma bullet. Then a few years later came out with the improved 155 and called it the 2156C Palma. The old style is no longer called the "Palma" bullet and has a larger opening at the hollow point. The newer 155 Palma bullets have a slightly better BC and are pointed at the factory. Both the old style and new style shoot very well out to 1000 yards, however the newer 2156C are slightly better by my scores.

Very good and low cost target bullet for 308.
I'm loading old 2155's for 300M this year to use them up, its one of my most accurate loads with only 45gr Varget, keeping the 155.5's, 155 scenars and 2156's for longer ranges.

I have shot 100's of 2155 and 2156 and they are great bullets if you're limited to 155 grs and the 308 (with a full case of Varget), but better results at long ranges come with heavier and sleeker bullets, even in the 308.

I've got a couple of 500 count boxes of those bullets left. They shoot very well out of my No4s converted to 7.62 Nato.

As Andy mentioned, I can't see any difference in consistent accuracy between them.

I run them in my brux barrelled Musgrave, and a remington.

I run Lapua L’s in my main TR rifle.

Honestly there is nothing wrong with them. Mayyyyyyyyyyyyyybe 20-30 TR shooters in Canada which would notice a measureable difference in them compared to using the new 2156/155.5/L’s.

Shoot them burn them up, and have fun.

If my daughter joins the dark side when she is old enough I’ll be hunting down a stash to load for her. She will be better served with trigger time then worried about the latest, and there will always be someone with a stash for cheap who wants to get the latest to “help their score”
