16" AR 15 hand guard options

I have that exact setup! I'm not really picky (or experienced) enough to notice much of a difference other than that it does feel like the rifle is a little more front heavy.
The handguard is surprisingly light given its size.

Pros: Provides a lot of space for gucci accessories
allows a good grip further along the firearm
doesn't transfer much heat from the barrel
is fully ventilated to cool the barrel
stands up to a little punishment (my dad dropped mine)
won't corrode
allows barrel to free float

Cons: Change the balance of the rifle
Doesn't come in bubblegum pink

Hope this helps, have fun!

Is this the midel with the front sight cut out?

I think weight would be the only issue. But not enough of one to worry about.

I have a 12 inch DD lite on my 16 upper. It's all you need and the balance is quite nice. If you're going for the LCF go for whatever floats your boat. For useability, the 12 inch is all you need.

I've been collecting parts for almost a year now...I was looking at the DD quad rails. After shooting a rifle that had one, I really didn't like the way it felt. I did try it with different panels and accessories, but it didn't seem right. After that, I was given a rifle that had a JP Enterprises Hand Guard one it and I really liked it. The way it's clean and easy to grip. The only down side is that you have to buy each bolt on rail piece. I wound up going with a Samson Mfg Evolution 12.5" handguard. It comes with everything needed for install including a few rail sections that can be bolted in at almost any place needed/wanted.
