16" DPMS Bull barrel $89.00

So you fill out the DSP-83 and export cert ?

This is from another Canadian gun forum

If you order less than $100 of regulated for export stuff (e.g. gun parts) from Brownells, there is no additional paperwork. If you order more than $100 but less than &500 they will email you a form that you have to fill out, sign and return to them before they complete the order. The form is an end use statement that you are buying the items for yourself and will not further export them to another country. It took me about 5 minutes to complete the form, sign it, and scan and email it back to Brownells the last time I placed an order.

Over $500 and youll need to follow the tutorial here.

Do you really think that for $89 you are going to get a premium barrel?
16 inch, carbine length gas system, 1:9 twist, doesn't say if it's chrome lined or not? No thanks. Just going to be a heavy barrel that doesn't shoot any better than a standard barrel.
If it was mid-length gas with 1:8 twist I might be more interested though.
Plenty of nice barrels available in Canada from many of our site sponsors if you're looking for a target barrel.

It's not chrome lined, most match target barrels are not chromed line. Show me which vendor has a 16" bull barrel under $180. I have a $65 NEA lower coming so I'm building a budget target rifle.

haters gonna hate, DPMS is fine for precision shooting. If you never used one dont comment.

here's a range report of my cheap DPMS Oracle. i shot with both American Eagle .223 (right) & cheap Norc 5.56 (left) at 50 yards benchrest supported
"couln't shoot at 100 yds with my cheap Vortex Sparc II red dot"

Most of the time its the shooter that cant do moa. All my AR are Frankenstein together with cheap deals from US. I can say I cant outshoot the gun.

I never said you wanted chrome lined, only that the listing didn't specify. Just because it's a heavy profile doesn't mean it's a precision barrel.
Doesn't matter anyway because you will need an export permit to bring it to Canada,

There are plenty more but you can do your own shopping.

If you want to call it a precision or target rifle build maybe your barrel should be one of the parts you don't buy the cheapest one you can find.
Accuracy costs money. If your happy with 1-1.5 moa then by all means buy whatever you want but if you want to call it a precision or target rifle then you should be thinking sub moa and you will need a decent barrel to get there. You should also be budgeting for a $200+ trigger group as well if you want a target rifle.

So what are those? 1 inch maybe 1.25 inch groups? What are you trying to show us?
You can shoot 2-2.5 moa with an AR using cheap ammo.

Here is a group I shot at 100yards with my 12 inch AR with an Elcan Specter DR set on 4x using Black Hills match 77gr mk262 mod 1 ammo.
Those are one inch squares.

Quality ammo and a quality barrel make small groups. No heavy barrel on this one just a standard profile 12 inch piston driven rifle.
Before anyone asks why the group is away from the center, it's because I have the rifle sighted in with AE black box 55gr. I'm not going to waste a bunch of expensive ammo zeroing the scope to the ammo just to shoot a group on the center of the target then adjust it back to shoot it's regular diet of dirty bird.

Wow. You're great shooter
I'm not doing compete shooting, just spend some fun time at the range & happy with my cheap stuffs
There's lot of shooters out there can shoot lot better than I do with cheap equipments.
What I like to say is lower end Ars are not that bad as some may say & think

I can shot that grouping with a stock da556 with the right load. Its all about optimal barrel time.

i believe it.

exactly

if i had $$$, i'd buy or build a very high end one. i won't spend 3-4 time the price only for having fun at the range.

The title of the product includes the line 'no chrome' so I would assume not.

I don't compete, all I do is play at the range with my AR's and in the bush with my other toys.
All I'm trying to show is that you don't need a heavy barrel to shoot tight groups and to the OP that just because the DPMS barrel says it's a heavy contour doesn't mean that it is a target barrel. It's about the quality of the blank the barrel is made from not the contour it's finished in that determines what kind of accuracy you will get.

Let's see some pics.
