160gr FTX for .30-30Win

They definitely shoot flatter over 200 yards than do the RN or FP types.
I shot one WT buck with the 160 FTX out of my 336A Marlin. [MV 2430 fps]
Shot was broadside, at about 85 yards.

My take is that they are just a bit fragile. Only found the jacket base and
fragments of jacket in the far side rib area. No part made it to the hide on
the offside.

In contrast, the Speer 170 FP exited on a similar presentation/shot placement.
The exit was about twoonie size. Lungs were heavily damaged. EE

I loaded some 160g FTX for my H&R
I didn’t have a chronograph then so not exactly sure on velocity. But probably 2350-2400 fps.
Stuck 2 into water jugs at 100yrds and both the core separated from the jacket.

I just picked up some CFE233 and 130g Ttsx to play with in that h&R. See where I get to.

I just shot some at the range on the weekend out of my model 94 win. They seem to shoot really well but I have no field results to speak of.
