Is a 165gr Accubond out of a 300 win short mag doing 3100 feet per sec good to take moose in Ontario?
I would use the Barnes TSX first, the accubond is a medium penetrator, but the longer weights such as 180's or 200's would seriously dig down into the powder space n a 300 wsm. The 168 gr TSX is the same length, but will penetrat like at heavier bullet.

Just out of curiosity - is there a reason why you want to go to a 165? The 180 is the more natural choice, not that I think it'll make a huge difference with that bullet.
How did you kill a moose with a .25-20? Put a cartridge in an apple then let the moose choke to death on it or eventually die of lead poisoning.
The reason for this loads is. I shoot a Tikka T3 lite that for what ever reason does not like the 180 gr bullets. With the 165's I get about a 2.5" group at 300 meters. The 180's are all over the place.
