$1650 for an AR180......

I like when you see people looking to trade a $190 bushnell for a Leupold Mark4 or nightForce

From time to time Jose comes around with decent prices but for some other stuff he is grossly over-charging. Then on some rare occasion he has rock bottom prices. I did buy 5 surplus elcan for 1k.. used yes but still usable... resold quite nicely for 350 on the airsoft market... But since he's not far from where I live I just drop by and browse what he has... most of the time there is nothing of interest but at times there are stuff that made me wish the cash machine was not that far from where he is located....

I sent him an email some time back hinting that it was a bit much and he apologized stating "it must be the booming Canadian market driving the prices down" etc. He said that he'd not seen the new pricing (specifically from Wolverine).

I see he didn't change it...

never saw any of its stuff at realistic priced, lots of time he sell used for more than new. i was told he is a good guy to deal with but its just too rich for my blod

He's not the only one. I've seen lots of stuff on the EE, in particular, some of the harder to find black rifle accessories, going for over double what they are worth. Just because something is hard to find, it doesn't mean that you have to gouge your neighbour.

Some people are completely out to lunch when it comes to pricing. That's one of the reasons I love the CGN EE forums so much. Usually you can skim through and find 2-3 rifles of the same make and model. Gives you a good feel for what something is worth used.

His prices are always higher, so much as to  (such as the Jennings J22 for $250), but he ships fast and when I ordered some mags, he threw in a bore light for free. Good service really.

But when I see large prices as a norm, I usually delete Valleyguns emails without looking, and as a result miss out of the good deals once and a while.

When it comes to buying anything over the internet, I've learned that "Caveat Emptor!" is the only hard and fast rule you must adher to. The Law of Supply and Demand will usually set the fair market price for an item. If you don't like that price, or you can purchase new for less, then you're obviously going to do that unless you have more money than sense. But when it comes right down to it, a seller has the right to set any price he likes for his property; we as the buying public are under no obligation to meet that price, unless it is for a "must have" or rare item that we're willing to overpay for it, simply because we can't find the same item locally for love 'nor money.

We've all seen the same overpriced items in the EE, again & again & again...and there they'll stay...only thing we should make sure is that they aren't being prematurely bumped, other than that, why bother complaining about just how ridiculous their asking price is? Send the seller a PM with an offer, if he/she accepts' all well and good, otherwise wait for the next one to come along!
