I would imagine your 155gr would be just a bit slower with the same charge of 62gr.
Your 2650fps is close to factory velocity with your jug and bullet weight.

You should be loading RL17 in that bullet weight. My conservative Hornady manual shows 59.6 RL19 under a 180 gr bullet at 2700. For a 155gr RL19 is too slow. Won't get enough in the case. Are you loading out of a manual? Doesn't sound like it.

I bought a 5lber of RL 19 in Feb 2016 from wholesale sports in Calgary. The powder looks and smells fine. But is terribly slow with respect to velocity.
Case in point:
30-06 62 gr RL19 155 Berger 2650 fps, whereas 60 gr H4350 gives 2970 fps
I've had these velocity problems in multiple other 30-06's, 7 mag and 300 mags with this jug of powder.

Berger book shows there 155 bullet with RL-19 max load of 60.0 gr at 2941.
Most entry level chronograph ar not that accurate.

Thats VERY SLOW fps for a 155 gr bullet in a 06 Even RL22 would shoot it faster then 2650 ish with a max load- Yes i agree something is VERY wrong ! BUT What ? RJ

Yes, it is, as well as RL22, at least in the 23 lots I have on hand and in the 30-06 loads I have tried with several brands / types of 180 gr. & 220 gr. bullets, albeit all of cup & core construction. My cold weather loads are really too high when it is +40 C in July, but quite mild during hunting weather (0 C to -10 C). BIG difference in velocity & POI as well.

Shot through a CED chrony, at 0 deg C, through a 24" Rem 700 barrel. They were shot right after the 60gr h4350 loads that went through at 2970.

I will find another calibre to use this in where I have more room in the case to keep increasing charge weight.

Yup, had it open in front of me when I posted. Again, why RL19 in '06 with 155s?? It's too slow from my experience and manuals. It's significantly slower than RL17, my burn rate chart puts it 10 powders slower than H4350, that you are expecting it to equal. RL19 is down by H4831. Again, what were the other loads this batch underperformed in?

There is no correlation between velocity you get from 60 gr of RL19 and 60gr of H4350.

Your results seem fairly close to Alliant data. I don't think there is anything wrong with the powder.

Most people experiment with the different powder, rather assuming it's "bad". My Lyman manual shows a max of 64.3 RL19 under a 150 for 2925fps, next line slower is max of 61gr of IMR4831 under a 150gr at 2903fps. I'm sure your powder must be bad. We should dump all ours on our lawns.
