Thanks to those with info on Pickle Lake moose hunting (my thread/posts from a couple of weeks ago).
We got a small bull!!
Here are some pics form the hunt.
Of course he died in the river 12km from the road... Here we are setting up the hand winch. This is me and my friend Dak, picture is taken by my wife Sheena:
Once we got him up onto the muddy bank, this was the best we could manage for our hero shot. If we let go of the winch to turn his head to the camera he would have gone right back into the water. No matter 'cause he wasn't much to look at. Left to right is Dak, me, and Sheena:
Here is the missing head from the previous pic. Not sure what to call the right antler. It is even more misformed than the left - it was downturned and grey coloured. It is also broken off just inside the skull because my mercy shot went into the head (first shot was a broadside double-lung).
