OMG I thought my grandfather was dead :)
They are like 10 bucks each to buy and special anti static plastic and I have to look but bet the mouth inside is larger and smoother for better flow. I know 100% the yellow ones for steel are and bet the red is also somewhat
Oh well to each their own

OH hey, it's me again the Ponsness Warren fan. They make a separate shell holder/ sizing die for 2 1/2 16 gauge shells. The nice thing about the loader is the shell stays in the die throughout the loading stages which supports most of the hull until it is pushed out after the last crimp stage. It helps avoid bulging and kinking of the hull if you have to apply a bit more wad pressure and crimping pressure for certain crowded load combinations that are published. Works great on
Kent/ cheddite hulls that have been cut down to 2 1/2 inches or using the 2 1/2 inch gamebore cheddite hulls. The gamebore hulls are a bit thinner but work if you don't get too rammy.
 
I looked up the Ponsness Warren loaders and they look really nice. As I am a complete noob at this I will see how I make out with the MEC 600 Jr. Would be cool if there was a shot shell reloading clinic. Would be a great way to get some hands on experience and advice.

Your grandpa would be real proud - big spender drops $10 on an empty bottle then criticizes someone who achieves the same thing for free? Oh well, to each their own.
 
I have owned a PW800c and I now own two MEC 9000 presses. The PW are nice machines, but the MEC presses load good ammunition for a much smaller investment. And with MEC progressive presses, you can easily remove a hull from any station , if there is an issue.
 
If it helps, the cheapest 16 gauge ammo I've found was Winchester super-x game loads, 1 oz #8 shot at $100+tax per case. Admittedly, I haven't tried them yet, I have found Winchester's target loads in 12 gauge to have serious cycling issues, hoping these aren't the same.

I am glad you think so. :) That grandfather needed help for being so cheap and with his hording and for what. His kids sure spent what money he left when he was gone. Yep when he passed we took four truck loads of old white javex bottles out of his basement alone newspapaers that were like 25 year old. Stacks of them
Like yes save 3 or so but 100's. Issues IMO

However I would love to watch you do 400/500 rounds an hour with your pop bottles as I do with my 9000G's. I have every gadget they made added to keep the powder and shot flowing smoothly and it is still a challenge
If you were closer I would GIVE you a MEC bottle since I have a box of them extra
For me one non drop or SPILL :( during reloading is well worth 10 bucks
But hey as you say to each their own

My PW presses can romove the shell/bushings at stations. If starting out a single stage press is a good place to start and a PW 375 is a wonderful press mec has some good features and likely easier to learn on. For static cling I run a folded bounce sheet in powder tube.

When a shot gun explodes and it not that uncommon it’s catastrophic it’s a bomb! As it has been said no distractions is the best advice you can get.
