17 HMR Effective range?

Every PGG (professional gopher getter) knows you need at least 3 rifles on a hunt. I use the 22lr, 22 Hornet and 204 or 223 and bring along a 500S&W or 25-06AI just for giggles.

I will be going with the 17mach2,17HMR, and 22 Hornet.

Mauser 201 .22LR w/CCi seg. HP., Savage Thumbhole .17 HMR, CPA .218 Mashburn Bee, and maybe a big bore for if things get dicey.
