17 HMR Grouping *Post your pics*

friend traded off the savage for a sako quad, and the groups shrank by 70%…. seen that happen twice. The round is a laser. I have no groups to post, but see 1/2 groups at 100 a lot.

Has anyone else here tried shooting the federal 17gr hollow points? Surprisingly they group a hell of a lot better than the hornadys for me. Shooting a savage tr and getting sub moa groups consistently with this round. Haven't tried to 20 gr yet.

Yup I shot lots of the fed 17gr tnt rounds. Work really nice on gophers too.

First time out with my CZ 455 Heavy barrel, once zeroed I shot <1MOA groups at 100m easily, but without any wind to speak of.

Before I left I put a couple groups out on the 200m without taking elevation into account, just so see how they grouped, it wasn't pretty. Maybe an 8" group at best, but there was some wind out beyond the 100m berm.

I freaking love this rifle and the 17hmr round though.

I love the 17 HMR, but it seems that my second rifle was never as accurate as the first one I had. The first was a Ruger 77/17 and the one I currently have is identical, yet it doesn't seem to be able to put all the bullets through the same holes like the first one did.

I'm waiting for the Anschutz 1727F to come in though........that should be a beauty with nice grouping!

Fairly windy day, I would imagine someone who knows what they are doing with the right conditions could greatly reduce those groups, I am no markmans by any means but do like the 17HMR very much.

1/2" vertical is nice to see though.

Rifle didn't like the heavier projectiles as much.

Marlin XT 17 with cabelas 17 tactical 3-12. It's not scientific but I'm happy, 100 yards 12 shots as fast as I could cycle the bolt and change mags. Really happy for the money and would buy again, can't go wrong with the .17!!

I dug these out of the drawer: three 100yd 5-shot groups from a first year production Ruger 77/17 Laminate HB. Gun was bone stock with a 6lb trigger and Leupold Vx1 3-9 on it. I kick myself for selling it everytime I look at these groups. That gun was unreal on gophers out to 200+yds! Havn't had a .17HMR since that will shoot like that.

Group on the right target is pretty decent as well.
