Just wondering which gun manufacture would I get the best bang for my buck? Also would need a scope for it. I would just be shooting at paper targets at about 200yards but would like to have a real tack driver. Thanks for your info!

Budget...Well I was thinking no more than $2000. I talked with a local gun shop and he thought a Savage rifle and bushnell elite 4x16x 40 scope would do the job and not cost that much.Your guys thoughts on that?

Savage 93R17-TR, Bushnell Elite Tactical 5-15x40, with bipod, rings, two 10 round magazines I was sitting around $1300 with a few boxes of ammo.

Shot like a dream. I've since sold it but man was it a fun gun to plink with.

On a calm day, doing my part, 150. That was a 5 shot group under a loonie. Throw in some wind and its anyone's guess. That is half the fun throwing the corrections in. Does require lots of elevation when you do start getting out far.

40 yards indoors, I was putting 10 rounds under a dime. Loved the gun.

I've just ordered a ZASTAVA Z-5 in HMR at Gagnon sports and for $279 and the very good experience i had with Z-5's in LR and WMR in the past, i'm pretty confident with the extreme high value of my new acquisition.

I'd really like to hear more about that gun when you get it. Mind posting pics? Review?

Thanks guys for all the info. I will try and find one here in the ee. Also any suggestions for the scope? I would like to see a crow blinck it's eye at 100 yards.

Savage 93R117-TTR-SR with VORTEX 4-12x50 kicks butt (and it's cool to look at too, if that counts for anything.......and I think it does).:):)

Yep CZ is definitely worth the money. Most who say otherwise don't have a CZ or need to spend more time with one.
Yes, I do own savages too. Cz just better.

Volquartsen...its in your budget with enough left over for a good scope like a 3 x 15 x 42 minox.
