Planning to buy another rifle, I have decided on a .17 HMR. Anyone have any ideas on what brand/model is best?
Must be bolt action.

I had a savage 93 heavy barrel blue synthetic. It had accutrigger and was extremely accurate. I sold it to a buddy with plans of buying the savage 93 tr model. I've waited too long tomake a purchase and now I'm torn between the tr or a cz. For the money though you can't beat the savage. (Buddy has since put an electric blue evolution stock on it and I'm a little pi$$ed off I sold it)

I should have bought a savage but cheaped out and bought a 817 mossburg had to get the bolt repaired after 200 rounds. the gun shoots like a cheap gun think I would have been more happy spending a bit more and getting a savage. Anyone I know that has one loves it.

cz, cooper, anshutz, and sako quad are all superior performers, hold their value, and are known high quality rifles

For me there were only 2 choices.

CZ452/455
Browning T-Bolt

I ended up with the T-Bolt as it was readily available. Otherwise, if they were both there, I would have walked out with the CZ. The Browning has a better & more reliable magazine. The Browning is also nicer fit & finish. The CZ is a bit more accurate out of the box. Both are top shelf quality.

I have the Savage 93R17 BRJ and love it. Worth every penny. The quality of the stock is incredible and the gun is extremely accurate. 5-shot groups at 100 yards are sub MOA every time.

Zastava makes a pretty nice, affordable rifle in .17hmr.

I had one in 22lr. That thing was built like a tank and very accurate. Easily on par with the cz's I have. Finish on the metal was just as good as well. I think the blueing on the one I had was nicer them my cz's. The stock was very heavy though but it felt exactly like a centerfire rifle.

My vote would be CZ...and that's coming from a guy with 2 Savage rimfires, and 1 Savage centerfire in the safe. I had a CZ452 Varmint in HMR, should have never sold that one.

Savage, Browning, CZ, Ruger, Marlin etc... I have had them all and they can all shoot. HMR is an inherently accurate caliber in my experience... Mostly shoot the 20 grain from Hornady.
