.17 hmr

Just went thru buying a 17 HMR a few weeks ago.
Ended up with a Savage heavy barrel stainless steel.
I've shot close to a thousand rounds thru it already and am very happy with its performance,when it misses its not the guns fault.
In the end I could not justify spending a lot more money on the CZ or Browning....tho the straight bolt of the Browning is awesome.

The savage will get it done i have the blued heavy barrel with synthetic stock and acutrigger. There are better guns for sure but the price difference does not make it that much better in terms of performance paying 3x the price will not get you a 3x better groups.

My First .17HMR
I just picked up a 93R17 TRR-SR.... just waiting for my 3-12x40 scope to show up, before i shoot it
I had my eye on this for a while , but after finding out the stock was wood, finished in matte armourgaurd ,and it hada threaded barrel, triple swivles, triple Picatinny Rails, I had to have it... $539, from wholesale sports kamloops ,after a 10% scratch and save.

So after 400 rounds of Hornady V-Max 17gr , and the lovely Acccutrigger , I'm happy to report, the Savage trr-sr in .17HMR shoots excellent. to 150yrds...
I was geting 3/4 " 5 shot groups @ 100yrds and they opened up to a full 1" out to 150yrds .. AT 250 yrds it falls off consideribily ,, like 3 feet LOL .
my Optic is a BSA contender "sweet 17", and it holds zero coming back off a 200 yrd shot to 100 .
