Anybody loading 17 Hornet? I'm doing a bit of research in preparation to start, and I have run into a bit of bad feedback on certain reloading dies. It seems people are having issues with Rcbs and to a lesser extent with Hornady. Any experiences to share? I would love to go with Redding, but at 5x the cost, the argument for would have to be pretty compelling.
Does RCBS have the floating sleeve to guide the bullet in the seating die? I haven't been able to determine that from my reading online.
 
I reload 17 Hornet, I went with Redding dies because I like how well they work in other calibers I shoot. That said I also have many sets of RCBS and Hornady dies and really never had any problems with them,the only RCBS die I have seen with the sliding sleeve is the Gold Medal Match seating die and it is $94.99 in Brownells and doesn't come in 17 Hornet. I bought the Redding Competition Bullet Seater for $119.99 from Brownells, P/N 55279, it is expensive but you only have to buy it once and it should last your lifetime. Also I neck size the brass as I only have one rifle in 17 Hornet.
 
I ended up buying ammo for the brass, I found brass for two places with a price of $39.95 and $39.99 for 50 and I got ammo from Cabelas for $22.99/25 or $45.98 for 50. So basically $6 more to have 50 rounds loaded and the Hornady ammo shoots very well in my CZ527. I ordered the 17 Hornet into the Edmonton store and a friend picked it up for me so I had no shipping cost, it worked out very well.
