Hey .17 hornet Reloaders, I have been loading this caliber for about 1.5 years now and I am familliar with the misterious ring near the base. I know it's not case head seperation because I cut a case appart and I cannot notice any thin area on the inside of the case.
Wondering if anybody has any explanation on this ring near the webb. On lots of factory ammo, it appears after being shot once and this happens in my Savage and my Ruger.
Any thoughts?
