Found a CZ 527 in 17Hornet for about 900$. Seems pricey for what it is. I already have a 455 with 3 barrels (17hmr, 22lr and 22 Mag) which I'm in Love with. Quality and accuracy are outstanding. So I was thinking of getting the hornet, and was wondering if anyone has direct experience with this round/gun.

Ammo Availability? (Can't find 17hornet ammo for sale anywhere in my area, is this cause demand is low and they are not stocking it? Or supply is not keeping up? Shoulda asked in person but didn't think of it lol) From what I've read it's pretty comparable to .223? 204? Or 22-250? Any opinions if comparing these 4 rounds?

I'm mostly just looking for a new toy as I love my rimfire a bunch and am looking for an entry into centerfire rifle, will probably get some future use as a small game rifle.

Thanks in advance

The 17hh is a brand new calibre. It will take time or it will go the way of 17 fb which I think is better. I thought that cz 17hh wasn't coming out until January? Shortage may be driving up price.

All of the other calibres can use heavier bullets. Velocity about 3600 which may be similar to .223 but .204 and 22-250 a tad faster in theory

i have the cz 527 american in 204, absolutely love it. you can buy a box of 32g hornady ammo for only 20$. i have never seen 17hornet ammo for sale so i am thinking it will be mostly reload only (because everybody will be sold out of ammo) for the first year or so just like the 204 was.
