.17 mach 2 ammo

I have only found it at wholesale sports here in Sask,buy 500 at a time for the 10% discount. I did find 2 boxes of CCI last time in calgary and bought both,they were about .75 cent/box cheaper. SIR/Cabelas also sell it

<sigh>

I was actually really enthused about the 17M2, when I read the magazine articles, and saw some of the info. Exited even.

That popped like a balloon, when I saw that I could choose between getting a hundred rounds of 17M2, or 500 rounds (or more) of 22 ammo.

I'll shoot the 22.

Any place that can sell ammo, should be able to get it from their wholesaler. Epps or Cabela's for mail order. It's got to go ground shipping. Don't know what the fees for that amount too. Check the total cost before you commit. It may be cheaper in the end, to pay a bit too much locally, than to get a "deal" that costs you more in the end, once shipped.

I've never bought ammo by mail. Always had either local suppliers, or stocked up at gun shows or on trips to the city.

Cheers

I was looking thru the current Russells and an older Wholesale catalog and happened to look at the cost of brass, bullets, loaded rounds. Yikes that stuff is dear. Starting to look like Weatherby prices. Guess Im sticking with my 223. That feels more like shooting 22lr compared. I was thinkin of mebbe lookin at a 17 but think I will wait and see if it comes down. I could make up 30-06 rounds for less money. Whoa

So which .17s are rimfire and which are CF? I wouldnt mind a .17 if I could load it or would I be better off with a .204? The 223 seems to be quite adequate but nothing like an excuse to buy another rifle eh?:)
