Hey all.
Ruger 77 with the heavy barrel. 17 Mach II. Gray laminated stock (wood)
Had the barrel floated by a gunsmith at the shop where I bought it. Turns out he didn't take enough wood outta the fore stock. Was shooting not too bad until the barrel heated up.
So..........
Took the action outta the stock and filed some wood out. Re assembled and cleaned the barrel. Tightened the 2 screws down quite tight. Now my point of impact has changed (not a big deal and re adjust scope) and the shots seem to be "not very" consistent at 100 yards.
Scout 800 was out at the range and suggested doing a copper removal cleaning to the barrel.
Any other thoughts here?
If more info is needed, please let me know. Seemed to shoot not too bad in the beginning.......
