17 remington load data.

I have some 20 grain bullets for this rig my buddy lent me . he wants me to make up a good safe load for him.
Any help with this would be great .

Those loads are just fine.

The real issue you're going to have will be COPPER FOULING.

High pressures and high temperatures in a very small bore, combine to create a lot of friction and the rather thin jackets of the 17 caliber bullets seems to leave a lot of themselves behind.

These great little bullets I use, Hornady 20 grain V max foul so badly that I have to clean thoroughly after less than a dozen rounds.

Thankfully the Tikka M55 shoots very well from a freshly cleaned bore.

My go to load with the Hornady 20 grain V max is - 26.5 grains of CFE223 over CCI450 magnum primers. Out of a 26in bbl this generates 4300+fps

My go to load with 20 grain Noslers is 23.5 grains of H335, over CCI450 magnum primers and it gives 4100fps

I've also been playing with the Hornady 25 grain V max and 8208XBR along with the 450 primers but the velocities are inconsistent.

Varget was my go to powder when I owned one. And the 20gr V-Max.

If the traditional powders don't work as you planned, try IMR8208. I've never loaded it in a 17 as I don't own one but it works great in my 204, 22-250, etc.
