.17 Super Magnum

I'd buy one each of semi handgun, revolver handgun, semi rifle and bolt rifle. revolver would probably have to wait till the others were home, but I would do so. Probably first would be a semi rifle.

If Ruger made a 10/supermag22 I would line up to buy one.

Sooo... I take it you were under a log or asleep, while Remington recalled their .17 semi autos. Ruger dropped them like a hot rock too.

Just from that little reference point, I think it's gonna be a long time 'till anyone mass produces an affordable semi-auto in a .17 rimfire, let alone a new, hotter one.

Phil, I was trying to pm you in regard to the 12g shells you are selling on the EE, but your account is full.
Let me know if they're still for sale and how much you want for the lot.

Thanks,
Rich.

Neat to see early perspectives in this revival of an old thread.

Still lots of conflicting views on the .17WSM and the B mag obviously, I'm happy with mine but as it's an inexpensive purchase it also has been a candidate for modification for ergonomics and cosmetic adjustment, but you probably all know by know how flimsy the factory stock is.

Looking forward to taking it out on friday or saturday to see how it shoots with recent changes (bedding in airsoft well G96 stock and carbon fiber barrel sleeve) hopefully I can finally update the thread I started a while back.

This thread needs more pictures

so there is going to be another extremely expensive rimfire round which people will lose interest in quickly. in the beginning when everyone wants it you wont be able to find ammo at all and later you wont be able to find any rimfire ammo but that. how about these companies try and sort out their .22 supply issues first.

Have you ever watched "Debbie Downer" on SNL?

from Bass pro locally a while ago:

you want debbie downer?...

every time someone goes into a store looking for .22 LR and they are sold out but there is a box is .17 HMR, .22 WSM, etc. on the shelf a kitten dies.

if there's no .22 LR on the shelf and it's getting to be too expensive it's probably becoming a rare and obsolete caliber, based on this logic it won't last long and anyone with a .22 is probably wise to sell them now before any more kittens meet their maker. :p
