Ya the savage bmag is such a terrible action. The cartridge is so good and deserves a decent rifle. I have no idea why Savage didn’t make a better design.

I have two and the one I shot I got from another guy in a draw and never had time till 6 months afterwards to shoot and pulled the trigger and nothing happened I got such a flinch trying to make it fire wasn't funny and then the guy I got it from heard from another guy it didn't work and called me a liar. I finally found some one who knew why it didn't work and corrected it myself. Gun was supposed to be brand new.

I was interested in one but the gun shop that I frequent didn't recommend it even though they would have sold the ammo for it. I think, if Savage revamped it and made it better more people would be interested - I did see price for 17hmr at 29.95 for 50. I used to buy this for 14.95 back in the good days

I have a box you can have for free if in Hamilton Ontario! I was suppose to buy 17hmr but guy behind counter gave me 17wsm and wouldn't let me exchange it, so I have 1 box of 50.

Savage is making a semi auto in 17 WSM now(A17 WSM)(Model # 47801)
Not sure when we will see them up here thou...
