17 WSM Ammunition

Havent seen any yet so its just heresay now. Would really doubt $14.00/20, all the stuff I read was about 50 round boxes. $14.00 per 20 would guarantee failure of a new round in my mind.


Last I heard from a dealer he was expecting to be $15.99-$17.99 per box of 50.

Will see when it arrives.
 
Saw this ammo tonight for the first time. Box of 50, $14.35 Asked to see it...opened the box...very nice looking stuff! I was instantly intrigued...but then on FaceBook tonight, saw a link Savage posted to a "GunsAmerica" review of the B-Mag and the only ammo they could get their hands on. Left a little to be desired. I could see this being a stellar groundhog shooter, but not with accuracy like that. Think I'll go hug my .223.

Where did you see ammo ? Was it for sale?

No sweat! Their Mississauga store might have it too, try them. (Allot closer to you) I think the Markham store will hold stuff for a day or so, you could probably get some put aside.
 
In the October issue of Guns n Ammo there is an article about this rifle/ammo for those interested. Issue just landed in my mailbox this afternoon so I haven't had a chance to read it yet.

I was curious why the Americans had thr guns and ammo in stock... And abundantly I may add, so I called my Savage Rep. I just wanted some answers I could tell customers. Production for the B-Mag in Canada is not supposed to start till "sometime in the fall" and with delivery sometime in the fall. I understand that economically, we are an eenie weenie portion of their business; however, give us something to work with. Just gots to ride it out I suppose.
 
Went to Mississauga LeBarons today and picked up 4 boxes of the 25 gn . Price with 10% off it discount card worked out to just over $13 a box/50.They still have stock on the ammo at that location.It's quite a bit bigger than HMR. Now I just have to wait for the rifle and 20 gn ammo to show up. Good thing I'm patient ! Like the night before Christmas when I was a kid!! LOL
 
Went into WSS this morn for some smoker supplies and I found some 17WSM ammo. They had both the 20 and 25gr V-max. Got two boxes of the 20gr.

16 bucks a box.

P.S. Yeah, I got lost in the store and found myself in the gun department. :D
 
I just got a hold of a box at the woodstock gun show from a dealer that came down from Kingston, seen it and just bought it was a 25 grn bullet, 2600fps, said the guns should be showing up in about 3 weeks. Bought the box of it anyways, was $19 tax in but havent seen much anywhere else yet.
 
That's good to hear, I was worried that some of the claims of extravagant pricing would come true.

I think that if the price stays below $20/50 the chambering should stay alive, especially if we wait for sales and get it around $15/50.


Now I just hope that some more companies make rifles chambered for it.
