Back in september i bought myself a savage BMAG with the stainless heavy barrel.
I also own a savage .17hmr with the stainless heavy barrel. My .17 hmr works FLAWLESSLY in the
cold. Not one ####up. Ever. However... this .17 wsm i bought does not share the same traits. I bought this in
september and it shot AMAZINGLY... i just took it out yesterday to go pop some coyotes and this thing
would not feed rounds to save my life. The first round would chamber (reluctantly) and then after that every
round would just refuse to chamber after, usually butting up against the steel just below the chamber. So
i tried dropping the mag and tapping it on the tailgate to re-seat the rounds in the mag and that didnt work....
i ended up getting back into the truck and after the rifle had warmed up it performed perfectly.
Do you guys have any solutions to this problem? I really want this as my main coyote rifle but the cold
is making it hard. Any help would be appreciated.
