Hello,

I am looking for a savage heavy barrel in 17wsm. Does anyone know of a dealer/store that has them in stock?
Would appreciate the help locating one.

Cheers
Ken

in stock online and at the Winnipeg store according to the link

Thanks for the few reply's. Managed to source a heavy stainless barrel in the non target stock after few hours of internet search and calls this am.

If anyone is looking Extreme Range Outfitters in Saskatoon has 1 left in stock.

Does anyone make match grade ammo for this caliber? Or does it have the same accuracy issues as 22wmr, where nobody is making "good" ammo?

Hornaday ammo seems to be more consistent then Winchester from what I have researched. But no there is no “match” ammo being loaded by anyone.

I agree.. non existent!! Match would make life easier..

I lucked out with a lot of 20 gr Winchester, by luck .. meaning

I have to clean the fussy rifle every 15 round.. no if and or.butts.!

Will shoot 3/4 to 1/2 on a good day.. with the first 5 .
After that.. such is life with factory ammo I guess.
Limes OR lemonade.

The hornady stuff was nothing to right home about. Fouled / cleaned/ 1 moa at best

Inhave Dealt with extreme outfitters also.. AAA service
Not a fan of the auction but. My 0.02

Looks like they are sold out now I am also interested in one with the black stock since I shoot left handed. then I can change it out myself for one that’ll work better for me

Do you guys get used to cycling the bolt? I always push down on my bolt before it is all the way closed. I really dislike the #### on close design…9

Have not fired mine yet. However have cycled the bolt quite a bit. It is weird, but kinda get use to it. I bought the Glade armory bolt handle as i am not a fan of the factory design. I apparently gives it more of a normal bolt throw/feel. So guess i will find out once installed.

#### on close for a modern rifle? Odd. Didn't realize that was the case for these rifles, thats not something you see very often.

I am looking for the Hornady 20 grain WSM. The winchester ammo will fit the bill for coyotes but it does have some fliers. I have the thin barrelled laminate.

If anyone can find Hornady in stock online on the prairies please pm me.

I have the black stock one and the wood stock one. The black stock one was the one I shot first and it would not fire. Took me a while to figure out what the problem was but turned out the accue trigger was the problem. It was set to low and was not cocking . Finally got it apart and set the trigger higher and worked after that. Turns out it is a common from the factory problem .

The worst part is the bolt handle will go downwards before the bolt is closed, making quick follow up shots a nightmare. Even a Cooey style manual #### wld be better.
