hi guys so i am going to do a test in water jugs with 30-30 bullets at 3006 velocity - but i have a quick question regarding the 170gr fn data particuarly, seeing as the fn is quite long an has a bit of bearing surface, pressure is likely to be a bit higher than ya "typical" 168gr .308 projectile...? right?
what data would be safe to just load 1-2 with using Varget ?? ADI data for 168 shows 47gr to 50gr Varget- 2700fps upwards... 42000cup..
the 180gr data shows 44-47gr, 2500fps up an 42000cup...
Whats ya rough safe number to start at with said FN variety in 170 GR
but also the 150gr- FN which i have played with before altho in .308,
the other powder i do have which works for "redued" i believe is 4198- i read it on the internet...
my aim is just to have something safe, that flys faster than the 30-30, an doesnt have to be a accurate load--- i am just unsure due to bearing surface here...
thank you
