174 grain .303 square tail spitzers?

Never heard of them. Felt very lucky today to find Wholesale Sports here had some of Hornady's 174gr FMJ Boat tails, which I have long wanted to try but have never seen before, anywhere, along with my favourite 174gr Roundnose which I have been out of stock every time I dropped in for over a year.
"...all I find are..." That's because most bullet makers are thinking Mk VIII ammo. don't think there are any flat based 174's.
You'd need to slug the barrel first too. Sierra and Speer use .311" diameter. Hornady makes .3105 and .312 inch bullets.

these are all i find, the only spitzers hornady lists are 150 grain online

Chinchaga bullets makes a 175gr flat base spitzer.

Woodleigh makes a 174 gr plain base protected point soft point. While not quite as slippery as the Mk-VII bullet, it would be pretty close out to 300 yards. Check with Tradex, they should have them.

(I could only find one brief reference - a very good one - to him here on CGN)I'd never heard of this fellow and googled him. For anyone who's interested, google "Chinchaga bullets, www.outdoorsmenforum.ca" and there is a thread from three years back. He's in Peace River, AB.
