1790-1810 Sgts spontoon.

Here’s something I picked up the other year and restored. A circa 1790-1810 British Sgts spontoon. Only one I’ve seen outside of a museum. And I’ve only found a couple in British auction houses. I scraped down a white ash shaft for it and made a shoe for the bottom of the shaft. This was found nailed to the inside of an old barn door in Pictou NS.

Great find. All I've ever found in barns in New Brunswick are broken dung forks and pigeon droppings.
