I finally got around to picking up my Eley ammunition, and the Savage rifle. I should have enough Eley ammunition to last for quite some time, and the Savage looks to be in excellent condition. I will post the Savage on the EE closer to spring.

$15.99 for HM2!!! That's crazy... I pay $6.50/box ordered by the case... our local Walmart carries HMR for $13.49. I have four HM2's, two of which are heavy barrel Savages... both of which shoot sub-MOA with ease, using Eley ammo and only slightly more open with Hornady ammo. My most accurate gun is a ridiculously inexpensive H&R Sportster...

Eley hasn't made 17mach2 ammunition in years. I purchased a good amount at $6-7$ per box, a few years ago, but if you are fortunate enough to find some, you can expect to pay considerably more these days. That being said, I won't pay $16 per box for 17HMR, let alone for 17mach2. If I ever shoot up the 17mach2 loads that I have, and I can't find more for a reasonable price, I will stop shooting the cartridge, and rebarrel my Cooper to 22lr.
I have 5000 rounds of Eley stored... the $6.50/box is for Hornady which is readily available... I picked up another two bricks this week (5000 in the cabinet)... I shoot the Eley out of my Anschutz and Hornady from the others... but as I said, my H&R with Hornady outshoots my Anschutz with Eley... go figure?
