17hmr effective coyote range ?

I have shot a couple coyotes with my .17hmr. Both times were on my way to the gopher patch and both kills were well placed vital shots that were under 100m. I wouldn't use my 17 as a dedicated yotey gun but it won't hesitate to use it with in 150m.
 
There is no reason to be using .17hmr for coyotes when rifles like the Stevens 200 and Savage Axis exist for the prices they do.
 
Can't speak of the Axis, but the stevens is great.
Lots of talk about the axis when it came out, sure there are some good reviews on CGN about them.
Also, the TC Venture in snow camo looks like a nice yote rig. 1moa guaranteed, 60degree bolt lift, and I believe a detachable magazine.
Once money isn't tight, I'd like to buy one.
