Hey guys,

Shot two different types of Winchester (walmart) 17 ammo, 17gr and 20gr. Anyone else have issues with this ammo? I'm shooting a brand new Savage Stevens 310. Aside from the loading issue, I have gotten as bad a 4 misfires out of 5.

Also, one round that did fire, when I checked it, the case was split down the side. I had my cousin fire 5 rounds from his Savage 17 and he got 1 misfire.

I loaded a mag of his federal premium and all 5 rounds fired just fine. Thanks in advance.
 
I have huge problems with winchester hmr ammo. Out of a box of 50 a ton of misfires lots of fail to feed, and alot of fte, Crap ammo for me. I do know a few other ppl that have no luck with winchester hmr stuff. I use hornady and cci both those are alot more accurate as well for me.
 
YES. I had probably 30-40% of a box split on me. Some of them would be so bad I'd have to pry the empty case out of the chamber.
 
i went through half a pack of Winchester 17hmr and my Savage 93R17 absolutely hated that stuff. I generally just stick to the Hornady and CCI for 17hmr

I also had to pry them out of the chamber. A pocket knife works well for this. Out of 50 prolly ~20-30 got stuck in the chamber. I cant recal the exact number as it was a long while ago. It was alot though. One word comes to mind.... JUNK
 
yeah, had to use the trusty pocket knife to pop a couple out today as well. Gonna switch over to some better ammo tomorrow and try and get it zero'ed in!
