Hey guys~I'm trying to scrounge what I can privately, but haven't seen it on the shelf for months. Bass Pro in Vaughan was the only place I used to be able to find it, but they haven't had it since the start of the summer, and no ETA. (shocking, I know) My local shop can get anything from Hornady/CCI...except 17M2. I've even tried a big distributor in Ontario, nothing, and no ETA. I know it's an oddball compared to .22lr, but is anyone else finding a "drought" in this stuff? Is this bugging anybody else? :)

Such a fun little round...but my stockpile of 12 boxes might not get touched until I know I can replace it.

Thanks gosse~but I'm trying to find it in Ontario. I struggle with the idea of mail ordering ammo (maybe I'll get over that) because it's like mail-ordering a sandwich as far as I'm concerned. Allot of trouble for something that is basically disposable. Deep down...and I'm over-thinking this...I want to decide if feeding an M2 is worth the trouble. There is no rimfire ammo that is more fun for the $ though~and I've had 3 HMRs, 1 .22WMR, and lots of .22s.

I do not have much trouble finding it in Brandon, Mb. The guys in the Prairies seem to find it when they look for it - probably because a lot of it is used on Gophers.

Buffdog~you can't mention gophers to me and not get hammered by questions about where to go for them...come on! :) Yeah, found some online out there...but shipping ammo is a last resort for me. I may have to get over that if I'm to remain a 17M2 fan.

I hate to be the one to break the news to you, but the stores you buy ammo from have it delivered. Is it a lot of trouble? Not in my mind. I can sit at my computer and put an order in for something in less than 5 minutes and then it shows up at my door. It's easier than driving to a store. And I only live 10 minutes from Wholesale Sports. If I could mail order a sandwich, I would. In fact, just last night, I called a pizza store and they made a pizza for me and brought it to the door. The pizza kinda sucked, but it was far less work than driving to their place for the same thing.

Definition of "Patronize": to adopt an air of condescension toward

Thanks for the clarification on how online orders/shipping works, much appreciated. How did I reach the age of 44 and NOT have a handle on that. I have found the stuff (as stated) but the shipping on one brick, for instance, is 32% of the ammo cost. So, if I can find it locally again..I'm looking at $8 a box. If I get it shipped, I'm looking at $10.50+ a box. $25 up charge for one brick alone. If your pizza place added a $25 delivery charge, would you look for a new place to buy pizza?

No, I'd order a ####load of pizza to make the delivery charges a smaller portion of my total bill, and then I'd brag on Canadianpizzanuts.com about how much pizza I had stashed in my pizza room. I'd probably even post pictures.

I thought you said the pizza wasn't any good? :) Kidding, I get it...I just have a strong dislike for paying more for things than they're actually worth.

If you can get it for $8 at any time, I think you're doing pretty well. I've seen it at a couple places in stock and it's always been in the $10 range.
I got some very cheap Hornady (DCA of about $5/box) when m2 was fading from the radar of most people, but it seems like the equilibrium point
for supply and demand has nudged the price up a little.
