IS it dead? I see ammo for sale but never see any rifles so chambered. I don't want to spend the coin for a Cooper so what options are out there for new rifles. I prefer my 22mag over the hmr but I'd like a 17 for squirrel hunting

Savage mark2 FV that's the rifle I was going to buy for myself for my bday only in 22lr. Maybe I'll keep shopping to see if I can find the mach 2. It seems like a perfect squirrel caliber and cheaper then the hmr to plink with. Thanks for the heads up

Hate to say it...but it's my favorite rimfire. Rifle and caliber. :) Bought mine one a whim, and love it more each time I shoot it. In fact, I installed a Rifle Basix trigger in it this past weekend~the love is that strong. lol

Can't buy the ammo in too many places, so I wonder a bit about the supply down the road...but grab one, show the ammo-manufacturers the demand is still there!

I have one too(thanks 22LRGUY:)) and it is great! HMRs come and go, this stays. Ammo at about half the cost with almost the same performance. Honestly after shooting it, I don't know why it isn't made by more manufacturers.

Its cheap but rifles aren't made anymore so i imagine ammo is cheap but not for long as everyone is raving about 17 HMR. I i think its great calibre but I prefer .22 or 22 mag. but to each their own.

They are limited in selection, but there are still rifles being built in 17mach2.
