18.5” mid-length barrels

Perhaps my Google-fu isn’t as good as I thought... I’m trying to find a 18.5” DPMS pattern barrel with a mid length gas system. Light or medium profile. I know they exist but I can’t seem to nail down a manufacturer.

Thanks

was looking at the mcgowin barrels website yesterday seems you could have them build you what you want. I wonder if the mid length system is the way to go on the 18.5? then you could run a adjustable gas block and tune it that way instead of mess with springs and buffers ect? might give one more options for sub sonic or reduced loads? Im still debating weather to go 6.5 or .308??? I am wanting a new coyote blaster is all, but its got to be dead nuts reliable too.... and wouldn't mind something that can chew through surpluss ammo as well.... not sure I need/want a match or anything high end to do that.... hmm maybe I should get something in good ol 243 instead??

I’ve never had issues using an adjustable gas block on my Modern Hunter (18.6” barrel) or my Stag 10 (20” barrel). Both have rifle length gas. I believe you want to run the longest gas system possible on a barrel. If your barrel was any shorter than 18” a mid length gas system would probably be the way to go.

It’s starting to look like a mid system on a 18.5” is going to be too much trouble.

I found it interesting that KAC uses a rifle length system on thier 16” barreled M110 carbine.

Correct, you can choose pretty much any spec you want to try. These are custom made.. not cookie cutter.

PM or email... very competitively priced as well.
