Does anyone know where I could find an 18.5" AR-15 barrel. Looking to convert my ACR and haven't had a reply from Ian at Herron arms, so I'm looking at other options.

From what I've read on ACR forums they can as long as you have the right size for the gas block and piston support. The only thing I don't know is if you need a larger/smaller gas port.

Brownells has a Wilson Combat SPR rifle available with an 18.5" barrel. Just fill out 3 pieces of paper and a quick email for the import cert and bob's your uncle, Brownells is doing the paperwork and will send your barrel in 4-8 weeks. If your in no hurry it's a good way to do it.

Dlask listed them for a couple of weeks, 18.5 with 1/7 twist, I managed to get one, and he is completing the installation right now. Picked up all of the components for the second barrel from Gravel Agency. Just took a look at his site and it seems they are all gone now.

Herron does top notch work. Even if it takes a while he has done a ton of them and will get it right. Worth the wait.

I would probably send it off to Herron if I could even get a reply from him.

I am seriously considering the Dlask barrel but I would prefer a slimmer profile and would like to see all my options. SteveM1, how much did much did all the components cost you from gravel agency?

It was $ 580.25, ordered everything in March, received the last component (gas block) a few weeks ago.

You could also have the great folks at Alberta tactical rifle build the barrel for you as well. You can get whatever barrel profile and custom length you want. I had them make up 8.5" barrel for my SBR. Great to deal with.
