18.6" Barrels for AR15

I'm always gonna be the guy asking for this caliber but... 5.45x39! If there's enough interest for this maybe you can start offering the Wolf ammo in cheaper 200 round packs and 750 round cases. Way I see it is if you do a limited run of the barrels and get more ammo in then people can buy both from you at the same time. Mind you you'll have to get bolts made as well or bring them in from someone in the states like Ballistic Precision. Of course at that point if you start bringing in stuff from Ballistic Precision I'll take a 5.45x39 barrel from them as well!
I would be interested in this if there was any 7n6 still available to be brought in....I think the recent conflicts wiped that supply out though.

I'd also be interested in 5.45 as well as long as there is some cheap ammo to go with.

All the research I’ve done on 5.45 ar conversions has shown its more expensive to feed then new production 7.62x39 because we can’t access the big boxes of surplus the US was able to source for years.

I’ve given up on that caliber because of that very reason.

7.62x39 - 18.6" government profile / heavy profile / fluted
.556 - 18.6" government profile / heavy profile / fluted

I see in the states that the Wolf ammo goes for around $160-$185USD for 750 rounds. Makes me wonder how much we could get it for if CanadaAmmo who stocks a bit of Wolf were to buy a large pallet/shipment of it to offer it cheaper at those quantities after CDN conversion and other fees etc. At least with the Hornady 5.45 some guys wanting an oddball varmint rifle can have one with an 18.6" barrel on the Maccabee SLR. Any comment CanadaAmmo?

Also, its not surplus but with the current sanctions etc with all Russian made ammo I don't expect to see any anytime soon but since we've had plenty of Barnaul in the country it would be cool to see these some day: http://www.sgammo.com/product/545x3...rain-lacquered-case-and-sealant-non-corrosive

So.. why wouldnt you just use pic mounted back up irons on a longer free float handguard instead?

If you want A2 handguards with a FSB why wouldn’t you go with rifle length gas? I haven’t heard of any functional issues with rifle gas on a 18” barrel

I guess if it works. Not like I think the suggestion will go anywhere.

Maybe not but at least he’s asking the question. South of the border they’ve known for years that there is a demand for lightweights. It’s too bad that Cdn manufacturers think that everyone wants an HBAR. This ain’t 1995, what’s next, A2 uppers?
