18 bore ENGLISH SXS PERCUSSION.

Have this English proofed non signed sxs, needs restoration, however ive never
Seen 1 with 35" long barrels!. Left lock
Needs a tumbler and a hammer. Or hammers matched. Also needs 2 nipples. Bores are shootable.
Just wonder if anyone is familiar with it?
16 gauge fiber wads will enter muzzles, but snugly. Heres a couple of images .

Typical Birmingham made export gun. Post 1855. The 35" barrels are a bit unusual, but not unheard of. Replacing the tumbler and sear is certainly do-able. A replacement hammer is going to be similar to the existing right hammer, should look OK. Similarly, nipples can be replaced. The gunsmithing needs to be done by someone with experience. The stock looks better than the metal. Has it been redone?
You haven't asked about value. Intact, shootable double guns of the type might bring $200-$300. This one is a project gun.

Has not been refinished, was hanging in a den for a long time, gent passed on and was given to me. Yes the barrels are very long.

Last gunshow i was at. A shootable english gun sold upwards of 800$. One fine example signed london gun sold for 1200$ was a 12 gauge. Id of figured smaller bores commanded a premium.
Yes its a project. I also own a percussion 12g london proofed shoot it quite a bit

When it comes to price, a lot depends on who made it and grade of gun. I agree with tiriaq when it comes to the going price for decent shootable run of the mill English and Liege percussion doubles. Back actions seem to be closer to the lower end.

Its like everything else...as age increases
So does rarity and availability, same as milsurps...no more 75 $ mosins right lol
Or 3$ box for surp ammo. The markets have really changed... As far as value..it was gifted to me...so value not huge concern. Prob cost 500/600$ to have it
Shoot again, but 18 bores are very uncommon and....35" barrels make me think a gun made for specific purpose. Like a live pigeon gun

Live pigeon guns tended to be large bore singles. 9-10ga. No provision for ramrod.
Have a look at Kidd Auction Lots 1713, 1714. Assorted antique left hand hammers and other parts.
Modern replacement hammers are available.
Given access to enough tumblers, it is possible that there might be an adaptable original. Or, one can be made starting with a lathe turned blank.
Removing and replacing nipples can be straightforward or challenging. Sometimes they will unscrew, sometimes they must be drilled and removed in pieces, if well rusted in place.

Here is a smallbore single shot on which I installed a replacement antique hammer. Made a large headed screw to cover most of the punch marks from a long ago attempt to tighten the hammer on a shank. Replaced the nipple as well. Not bad from a style and appearance standpoint. Note the HBC tombstone mark.

Have a look at KOS Auction Lot 10. Hollis and Son 18ga double.
It is really unusual to see a buttplate like that on a muzzleloading gun. I THINK the script is H&S. If the stock is original, it is a really late percussion muzzleloading shotgun; if not, it is a very well done restock.
Condition looks really outstanding. Current bid is $300, with a number of days yet to go. It will go higher, of course.
