Would sure love Zahal to chime in here and give us the real skinny on what has and is happening with regards to these magazines...... hint hint *cough* Zahal...
Is ZAHAL bringing more of these in?
In regards to our 10/30 magazines, here's the situation:
CBSA, (but not the RCMP) has decided that they can not be imported because "they are not manufactured specifically for the LAR-15."
It is increasingly unclear to us what Canadian officials are looking for when they talk about the intent of manufacture. We were on the factory floor, and the intent to develop LAR-15 magazines was perfectly clear to us. We have not been given any guidance as to how this intention is determined by CBSA or the RCMP, and no example of what documentation we could possibly provide to meet it.
This is intensely frustrating for us, as it feels like the goal posts have been shifted yet again. With the RCMP unwilling to formally approve manufacturers of magazines, and CBSA refusing entry for items that we felt met every requirement of the law, we are at a loss as how to effectively sell this type of product in the Canadian market.
At this time, we will be refunding anyone who has an outstanding order of 10/30 LAR magazines. Those of you who have received them, you may ascertain whether they meet your country's definition of a prohibited device or not. We are quite confident they do not, but we are not lawyers, and we do not live there. Any current owner with an order record with us may return their magazines to us and receive a full refund.
To be clear: we have received zero communication from the RCMP in regards to these magazines. Only that CBSA is no longer willing to allow their import.
I wish we had better news.
