Wondering if anyone here has had any experience loading 180 grain hardcast rnfp in your 357 mag. Can't find any data on that combo. I will be using it in a lever action. These bullets are cast from a magma mold. Due to the lack of powder around here I only have hs6 and n350 powders at my disposal. Any help would be great

there is 170gr load data for 357mag using hs-6 on hodgdon's website with a starting load of 8gr and max of 9.2gr. based on that i would opt to start at 7 or 7.5gr, But that may just be me.

OK that is a good start point. Has anyone on here tried the bullet barn 180 grain .358" in their 357 mags? I haven't been able to source any besides the ones from bullet barn. I wonder why they are so hard to find in this country

W296 or AA#9 give a hair under 1500 fps from a 20" barrel. I don't have the charge handy, but it's basically as much as fits under the bullet (typical for magnum powders). Legitimate data is out there for these powders at least.

OK, but I never mentioned those powders. Nor do I have access to them.

Ganderite; I will be using magnum primers for sure, I have a handful of the 180 grain and was looking to play around and see if I can work up a good load before I buy a bunch of them. Thanks for the info. As always I will start low. Just had no idea where to start. I have been loading 158 gr cast over 9.2 gr hs6 and it has been an accurate load from my little carbine
