mp, the 180gr will be a better indicator of energy on game at those type of distances.
When you are that far out, mass is everything.

I was present when a 6.5 140gr target VLD hit a rear leg on a coyote at around 200yds. The muzzle velocity was 2900fps. Blew up on impact. Didn't knock the dog over.
3 legged coyotes run away really well.
They work very well if you want complete expansion in the chest cavity or when impact velocities have slowed down enough that they function like any other standard hunting bullet.
For the average hunting shot and distance, they are a very fragile bullet.
If you remember back when, Nosler BT were given a horrid rep for blowing up on game. Nosler revised the design and today, the BT is a pretty stout slug.
Bergers are substantially more fragile then the OLD BT's.
