180 rifle in 300 blackout

Any current or future options in 300 blackout. Or can they be converted to 300 blackout, ideally with a pistol length gas system?

A conversion to 300 blackout is really just a matter of swapping the factory .223 barrel for any 300 blackout barrel with the correct gas port spacing for a carbine length gas system. If you want to use a barrel set up for a pistol length system, you'll have to modify a factory piston, I'd think, as no one offers a pistol length gas system for the 180 pattern rifles.

There is at least one guy on here that has done it. I recall he had to do a lot of fiddling to get it running right but was happy in the end. Definitely an interesting conversion to me.

Only if you want to run subsonics with certain powders. Carbine length will run Remington and Hornady subs just fine. That is in an AR though... Maybe I'm missing the point and you are saying it's what you want as stated in your first post..?

If you're wanting to keep it NR length you'll need a custom barrel to get a pistol length gas system. If going R then yeah, most are pistol length. You'll need to modify the piston though.
